South Charlotte estate

Hey y'all. Tyler here with Merry and Bright. This South Charlotte estate is one of my absolute favorite examples of how we design beyond the roofline. The goal of this project was a timeless warm white display that felt both welcoming and festive while still fitting in with the style of the home. We started with custom cut, warm white C9 lights across the front peaks and gutters of the home. So I'll draw your attention down to ground level where we use the same warm white C9 lights along the entrance path. So using the same color and bulb style at a lower height actually ties the display together more and it frames the full approach to the house. So between the roofline and the pathway, we added spritzers throughout these trees as you walk along the entrance to the front of the home. We set these at different heights to create a subtle shimmer and a little bit of a differentiated feel to your eye. So that middle layer keeps your eye moving across the property and connects the height of the peaks down with the depth of the path lighting. The center window also has a large wreath with a custom burlap bow rather than our traditional red bow. This was done to fit the homeowner's existing decor inside and out. We actually carried the lighting across both sides of the home, so the display feels complete as guests approach from either the driveway or the road to the left of the home. This main portion of the house, as you can see here, actually is cedar shake or a plank roof, so we had to take some special considerations as we figured out what type of clips to use. You know, we don't use nails or staples on the roofline to attach the lights, so we wanted to make sure the lights were still attached in a temporary fashion, so we had to explore some different plastic clips and test several different options before landing on what works best. And the garage is a metal roof, so some metal is magnetic, some is not. We tested a couple different clips here and we were able to use a magnetic clip on this garage portion here. Also important to highlight that displays can evolve and change and add in more over time. So we actually added two 36-inch wreaths on either side of the entrance here coming into the courtyard, so they help really frame that entrance. They give additional dimension to the design and during the day when the lights are off, just like those wreaths on the home, they add a lot to the display with those matching burlap bows and just the greenery adds a real nice touch of festivity and that holiday feel even during the day.
