Before, during, and after the season
Christmas light installation FAQs
These answers explain the service at a practical level. Your approved proposal controls the exact design, price, timing, and maintenance terms.
How much does professional Christmas light installation cost?
Current 2026 residential projects start at $995. That minimum is measured before any eligible seasonal discount is applied. Most complete residential displays fall between $1,800 and $2,200. Roofline lighting for many two-story homes in our market falls between $1,200 and $1,600. These are planning ranges, not package prices. Wreaths, garland, columns, trees, shrubs, access, display height, and specialty decor are priced for the property. Larger custom displays are quoted individually and are not capped by these ranges.
Do you offer early-booking or October installation discounts?
For the 2026 season, customers can save 5% by booking early and another 10% when the installation is scheduled for an available October date. When both offers apply, the discounts are added from the same approved project price for 15% total. The 5% early-booking discount is available until further notice and will no longer apply once October begins. October appointment space is limited, and eligibility and availability are confirmed in your proposal.
Do I buy the lights?
No. The lights and decorations we provide remain ours and are rented for the season. That lets us supply commercial-grade products and keeps you from buying and storing bins of lights.
Do you install lights I already own?
Our full-service designs use products we provide. A separate handyman-style installation may be available for customer-owned decor, subject to condition, access, and safety review. Include that request when you contact us.
What is included?
Every approved full-service installation includes the design, products, professional installation, a digital timer, seasonal maintenance for the installed display, and post-season takedown.
How is commercial holiday lighting priced?
Commercial and association projects are quoted separately from residential work. Pricing depends on the property, design scope, installation access, operating-hour restrictions, equipment needs, required completion date, number of locations, and vendor or documentation requirements. We prepare a site-specific proposal rather than applying the residential project ranges to a commercial property.
Do I need to be home for installation?
Usually not. We need permission to access the property and clear notes about gates, pets, outlets, and any areas the crew should avoid. Your proposal or scheduling message will confirm the details for your job.
When should I book?
Earlier requests have more flexibility. If you have a party, travel date, HOA deadline, or business opening that matters, include it in the design request so availability can be discussed before you approve the work.
What happens when a bulb goes out?
Use the maintenance request page and attach a photo if you can. The address, location of the issue, and whether the timer or an entire section is affected help us send the right information to the service crew.
When do you take the lights down?
Takedowns begin after the holiday season and continue through January, with weather and route scheduling affecting the exact day. You do not need to submit a separate takedown request for a full-service installation.
Are you a local company?
Yes. Merry & Bright is locally owned and serves the Charlotte and Lake Norman area, along with selected nearby communities in North Carolina and South Carolina.
